
Our Wednesday Night Life program has been revamped! We hope you’ll join us in one of our many new classes listed on this page.
Term One takes place from August 12—September 30. We have added three afternoon sessions, which meet from 3:30—5 p.m.
Wednesday Night Meals will take place directly after at 5 p.m. in the Christian Life Center, which you can register for below. Meals are $10 per person with a $40 cap for families, payable at the door.
Following the meal, we have six evening classes available, which take place from 6:00—7:15 p.m.

Wesley and the People Called Methodists

Our history as Methodists runs deep and shapes who we are today. This eight week class will focus on John Wesley and the beginning of Methodism in the 1700’s before ending with how we became United Methodists.

Creed: What Christians Believe and Why

In this book study, Hamilton considers important questions of life, reality, and truth. He explores not only what Christians believe, but also why they believe it and why it matters.

Becoming Agents of Grace: How to Fight Racism

This study will utilize New York Times best selling authors ARC model to help encourage us toward becoming agents of grace and equality. We will learn how building a greater awareness of others, forming relationships with people of other races, and looking for the places God is asking us to commit to being a voice of grace and equality connect with our call to be disciples of Jesus Christ. We will read Jamar Tisby’s book titled How to Fight Racism and discuss a chapter or two each week. You will receive a book with your registration along with a reading and class schedule. Come with an open heart ready to respond to God’s calling to be a source of healing in the area of race.

What It Takes to Make Cookeville First UMC Work

This four-week course provides an overview of how Cookeville First United Methodist church functions and carries out its mission and ministry. Participants will explore the organizational structure, leadership roles, financial stewardship, worship planning, discipleship ministries, community outreach, facilities management, and administrative processes that support the life of the church. The class is designed for newcomers, church members, ministry volunteers, emerging leaders, and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of church operations.

Power of Prayer Walking Group

Come meet after dinner for a short devotional and prayer time, then walk and pray alone or with prayer partners. Burdens are lighter when they are shared. Walks will be outside when weather permits or on the gym walking track during inclement weather. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
