WALK TO JERUSALEM

As a part of our Lenten journey together, we are taking on the challenge to collectively walk the 6,372 miles from Cookeville to Jerusalem during the Lenten season. Join us by recording your walking/running regiment during the 40 days of Lent. The goal is to combine our mileage and reach the 6,372 mile mark by Easter morning!

LENTEN ART WALK

All artists, photographers, needle work enthusiasts, and creative people are invited and encouraged to share your talent with the congregation during the Lenten Art Walk, to be held April 7 through April 22 on the Walking Track of the Gym.

Thursday Lenten Prayer Service
Join Chip Hunter every Thursday during lent from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. in Wesley Chapel for a guided time of self-reflection and prayer focused on Jesus journey to the cross. Because 12:30 p.m. coincides with the ending of Thursday’s Grace on the Go meals, we will extend a special invitation each week for our friends to join us in prayer. It is our desire to offer our friends further hospitality, connection to faith and to the church. So, come and join in this special time.

Lenten Daily Devotionals
The Sanctuary for Lent 2025 contains brief readings for each day in Lent, from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday. Copies are available in the sanctuary and church office.

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE AND MEAL

March 5
5 p.m. meal in the Christian Life Center (Reservation Deadline Has Passed)
6 p.m. Service in the Sanctuary

Holy Wednesday study and worship experience in the sanctuary features Jesus’s humble sacrificial life and passion on the cross as the source of atoning sacrifice for sin as a healing balm for our woundedness.

PALM SUNDAY

April 13, 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary
11:15 a.m. in Wesley Chapel

Palm Sunday processional at both sanctuary services. All are encouraged to share in the excitement of the Palm Sunday Processional. Children are invited to lead the processional and to gather 10 minutes prior to the service on the landing above the narthex. Tour the Lenten Art Walk before and after morning services. Donuts and Coffee served in the Freeman Building lobby.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

April 17
7 p.m. in the Sanctuary

On Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) we remember and observe the Last Supper.  We recall how Jesus broke the bread, shared the cup, and spoke the words, “This is my body given for you and my blood poured out for the forgiveness of your sins.”

GOOD FRIDAY

The Walk to Jerusalem
April 18, 7 p.m., Sanctuary

The walk to Calvary will be experienced through meaningful experiences, scripture, music, and readings. Learn more about our Walk to Jerusalem HERE.

EASTER EGG HUNT

April 19, 10 a.m.
Dogwood Park

All ages are welcome! Just bring a bag/basket to collect your eggs. There will be a few golden eggs with special prizes, so be on the lookout!  Youth volunteers are invited to come at 9 a.m. to help set-up. Note: In case of rain, this event will be cancelled.

April 20

  • 8:30 a.m. Service in the sanctuary
  • 11 a.m. Service in the sanctuary
  • 11:15 a.m. Renew Service in Wesley Chapel

Easter reception at 9:30 a.m.in Jeff Wall Hall. Join us for donuts, cookies, and coffee. Come celebrate the joy of Easter and the new life Jesus brings.
