Stephen Ministry

The Stephen Ministry serves our congregants and the community by providing Christian care to those experiencing life’s challenges. In the same way you would request prayer for a friend in need, the Stephen Ministry may be available to a friend that needs a listening ear. The Stephen Ministry is not solely for Stephen Ministers to provide Christian care; it is also a servant resource for you to access for a friend with a crisis, for yourself, or for others who may have need.

Many times, persons receive care from the Stephen Ministry as an additional layer of support in their lives.

The Stephen Ministry may be accessed by a simple chat with a Stephen Minister or one of our pastors. You may also call the church office and leave a message for one of the pastors. Once a connection is made, our Stephen Ministry coordinator will find a good Stephen Minister match for your particular situation.

Stephen Ministers receive over 50 hours of intensive training in Christian caregiving, participate in monthly supervision groups, and receive ongoing continuing education helpful to the scope of this ministry. Most wear their Stephen Ministry name tags on Sunday mornings. Please speak with any Stephen Minister, if you feel called to this type of ministry. We train one new class of ministers each year.
